What have you been doing since high school?

After graduation from ODU I went to Atlanta and startwd working at Emory University hospital in the CCU. I met and married my husband, John in 1977 and we moved to Nashville , TN. He went into internal medicine and was one of the founders of Heritage Medical Association. I continue to work in cardiology from the cardiac cath lab, cardiac rehab, heart transplant to arrhythmia where we dealt with all sorts of devices(pacemakers, defibrillators etc) I recently retired after almost 40 years of nursing! I was fortunate to love my work!! My husband retired about a yesr ahead of me. We now enjoy our time in Monteagle(near Un of the South) at our home on the lake, only for canoeing and fishing. It is peaceful
We are fortunate to have our children close. Our daughter has three boys 9,7 and 4 so I help out whenever I can! Plus I love being with them
I am also busy with other volunteer opportunities

Favorite story from my days at Douglas Freeman:

Though we weren’t the most popular but I loved being in the band
We had great times! Winning many of our competitions! Parades and Friday night football games! And who could forget My Fair Lady
Plus we had the Best band director ever....Hunter Purdie
